History

1912
Founder Kawase Sadajiro (b.1878) opens Kawase Folding Fans a manufacturer of folding fans for export.
1953
2nd generation: Kawase Yuichi (b.1907) reorganizes the business into Kawase Industries Corporation.
1970
The company makes an important shift as the appreciation of the yen caused by the Nixon Shock leads to a dramatic decrease in exports. The company shifted to a focus on domestic sales and took advantage of fresh demand for their products for use in events and as gifts.
1977
3rd generation: Kawase Sadao assumes the role of company president.
1980
New company office construction completed.
1992
Nagoya Fan Manufacturers Association appoint Kawase Sadao as chairman of the board of directors.
2000
Suehirodo a direct folding fan manufacturing and sales store is opened, fulfilling a long-held dream of the 3rd generation president.
2005
Suehirodo’s own internet shop is opened, along with an online Rakuten store.
2000
Company name is officially changed to Suehirodo Co. Ltd.
2022
International online store is opened.
